Campain Against Child Rights Violation In Uganda

CAMPAIN AGAINST CHILD RIGHTS VIOLATION IN UGANDA

10 Years Serving the needy

In Uganda, violence committed against women and children is very prevalent. It frequently occurs within the heart of the family but extends to schools, neighbors, friends, and workplaces. However, those who commit such violence are very rarely brought to justice.

Examples include economically motivated child marriages, children's entry into commercial sex work and leaving children without adequate care while parents are working.

For example, the denial of education to girls, excessive use of child imprisonment, unnecessary institutionalization, segregation of children with disabilities and discriminatory treatment of minorities can all be said to be harmful practices actively condoned by many cultures.

Technical and vocational education and training plays an essential role in improving the wellbeing of youths and communities. It increases productivity, empowers individual to become self-reliant and stimulates entrepreneurship. Businesses are more willing to invest in a community with strong human resources.

Vocational education is a very crucial tool for economic and social development. This is because the knowledge gained from vocational skills is required for an efficient and competent work force in any society as it helps individuals to think critically and be more practical in solving societal issues. Child Link Foundation-Uganda therefore, offers skills training to young people who are currently out of school.  The skills offered include; motorcycle repair, cosmetology and bakery.
